7:00 pm Mass
At the 7:00 pm Mass, the community of Christ the King welcomes, in particular, those who are new or returning to the faith. In order to embody the Christian spirit throughout the Liturgy of the Word and the Celebration of the Paschal Mystery and at the reception that follows Mass, this ministry needs the time and talents of parishioners who are willing to be ushers, singers, musicians, greeters or provide hospitality. Certification is required prior to serving as a Lector or Extraordinary Minister of Communion.

Advent/Lent Small Group Scripture Sharing
Small group members encourage each other on their walk through the Advent and Lenten holy seasons as they reflect together on the scripture readings and apply the lessons learned to their individual lives. All parishioners are encouraged to come and prepare more fully to receive the gifts of the Birth and Resurrection of our Savior.

Annulment
In order to help divorced and remarried Catholics live sacramental lives, the Church encourages them to pursue the annulment process. Deacon Whitney Robichaux can provide information and arrange a confidential discussion with a trained case sponsor. Deacon Robichaux offers group sessions about the annulment process three times a year.

Cathedral Bible Study for Women (CBSW)
Women from all walks of life - married, single, young adult, grandmothers, professionals, stay-at-home moms – meet each week to study the Bible in depth. Each brings her unique perspective on applying the Word of God to her life. A short commentary makes Scripture approachable for busy women. Then the women gather in small groups and, together with their group leaders, unravel the truths found in scripture. Whether a regular bible study goer or first-time novice, all women are invited to join. No experience necessary, just a desire to learn the Good News.

Cathedral Women’s Circles
Through prayer, study and service the participants in the Cathedral Women’s Circles develop a closer relationship with the Lord and are challenged to delve deeper into their faith. These independent small groups of women nourish their spiritual lives as they gather on a regular basis for prayer and study. Their enriched faith moves them into action to serve the Parish and surrounding community through various projects. All women are invited to grow in faith and relationship with the Lord.

Catholics Returning Home
The Community of Christ the King stands with open arms to welcome all Catholics who have been away from their faith and their Parish community. All Catholics who wish to reconnect with the Catholic Church and join the Cathedral Community are invited to attend this 6-week series where team members and instructors will clarify the Church’s teachings and walk with them on the road back to the sacramental life.

Engaged Encounter
On an Engaged Encounter weekend, a couple deepens their relationship and shared faith as they prepare for the sacrament of Marriage. With the goal of building stronger marriages, the presentations lead the couple to reflection and dialogue. Volunteer couples are needed to help in many different ways with the weekends.

Familia for Men
Husbands (with young children) come together as a small Christian community to study and pray as they nurture their vocations of husband and father. Inquiry
The decision to become Catholic is a major milestone in a person’s faith journey. Many Christ the King parishioners are eager and committed to sharing the truths of the Catholic faith with those interested in learning more about the Church and the Sacraments. Adults 18 years and older are invited to the “no obligation” inquiry sessions where the goal is to present the truths of the Church’s teachings and answer any questions or concerns.

Journey of Hope

Living In The Spirit Seminar
Wherever you are in your faith journey, this seminar will help you find a fuller expression and commitment in your spiritual life. An introduction to life lived in the power of the Holy Spirit, this seminar provides an opportunity to discover the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, praise, and community. All parishioners are invited to come experience the movement of the Holy Spirit in their life and in our Parish.

Living The Mysteries
The Living The Mysteries sessions are a supplement to the RCIA program which culminates with the Initiation of the Catechumens and Candidates into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil Mass. New Catholics are integrated into the community through sharing in the Eucharist, meditation on the Gospel, and discovery of our community’s ministries and opportunities to serve. Although primarily developed for new Catholics, the sessions are enriching to Catholics in all stages of their spiritual walk. All Cathedral parishioners are welcome.

Men’s Bible Study

Ministry of Sponsor
Parishioners are needed year-round to sponsor adults inquiring into the faith and preparing to come into full communion with the Church. A sponsor is not required to have a degree in theology but rather a listening, active and open heart. Time and again past sponsors have experienced the privilege of being part of someone’s spiritual journey into the Church. They have found that one of the hidden treasures in this ministry is the spiritual riches they receive along the way.

Ministry Of The Arts
Through the Ministry of the Arts, parishioners have an opportunity to use their God-given gifts to serve the Body of Christ by enhancing the physical and spiritual environment of the Cathedral. Our goal is to use our collective creative talents to help educate, appreciate and support the arts while increasing our faith and encouraging fellowship among our parishioners. Monday Evening Bible Study
The Word of God is nourishment for one’s faith. Participants in the Monday Evening Bible Study come with varying degrees of experience and a shared desire to learn the Good News and grow in faith. After a commentary presentation, small groups share their own insights and thoughts on the scripture. We study the Bible in depth, one book at a time. All adult parishioners, as well as those from parishes around the Archdiocese, are welcome.

Perpetual Adoration
Our Perpetual Adoration Chapel is open 24 hours daily for prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. In order to have this blessing available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we must have volunteer guardians committed for each hour throughout the week to spend time in the presence of our Lord. This is a wonderful opportunity to pray silently before our Lord for comfort, strength, peace and direction and to present him with your needs and intentions. Parishioners may sign up as volunteer guardians (sign up for one hour a week), substitute guardians (to cover individual schedule conflicts), or coordinators (in charge of scheduling).

Power Hour
Using scripture-based reflections, Eucharistic worship and prayer, participants are led into an offering of communal praise to God and a nurturing of the spiritual life. This weekly praise and worship ministry is “storming the city and breaking down the walls” that keep God’s children from hearing the message of Jesus Christ. All parishioners are invited to this hour of teaching where they will grow together in community, identify their gifts, put them to work and be a stronghold of prayer for Christ the King.

Prayer Chain
The CTK Prayer Chain allows us to pray for our brothers and sisters when they are unable to pray for themselves or when they need our support to pray with them and for them. As a link in the prayer chain you will be one of many who will be praying for the spiritual, physical, emotional and financial needs of our parish community. ANYONE can join the CTK Prayer Chain! All that is needed is a willing heart and a genuine desire to pray for those in need. Prayer requests will be sent to you via e-mail. All you have to do is offer up a prayer when you receive a request.

Prayer Shawl/Blanket Ministry
Shawl and blankets are gifts given to those in need of comfort such as those dying, those who have lost a loved one, those going through a divorce, etc. The Prayer Shawl/Blanket Ministry began in the New England area and spread during the 1990’s. At the Cathedral, a caring and giving group of men and women get together twice a month to knit or crochet shawls and blankets. Each session begins with a prayer for the person who will receive the shawl/blanket. Members work on projects at home between meetings. No Experience Necessary – just a caring and giving heart.

RCIA
Throughout the history of Christianity, people of all faiths have found their way to the Catholic Church. While each person’s journey is as unique as the individual themselves, all are drawn to the one God and for the same purpose – to know Him, to love Him and to serve Him. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults offers a program of faith formation for adults 18 years and older that will prepare them for full initiation/communion into the Catholic Church at Easter.

Reason To Believe: An Apologetics Series
Why spend your summer Friday nights at the Cathedral of Christ the King? Because there is no better place to listen to dynamic speakers and get answers to your questions on some of the most thought-provoking topics of the Catholic faith. This 6-week summer Apologetics series focuses on the basics of our Catholic faith with the emphasis on explaining the faith with love to both Catholics and non-Catholics alike. Open to any interested persons – Catholic or non-Catholic, CTK parishioners and Catholics from around the Archdiocese. Topics vary annually.

Rosary Group
The Rosary Group promotes prayers of intercession to Our Lady through daily rosaries, First Saturday Devotions and monthly meetings. Through intercessory prayer the Body of Christ - the Church and its members - are lifted up and strengthened. Intercessory prayers are also offered for intentions such as our government, our Nation, our Parish community, etc.

Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults
The sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace and completes an individual’s Christian initiation. Catholic parishioners, 18 and older, who have not been confirmed, are encouraged to enter preparation classes offered twice a year. Candidates beginning in September will be confirmed in December and those beginning in February will receive the sacrament in May..

Small Christian Communities
The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. Jesus promised "For where two or more are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them." (Mt 18:20) Small Christian Communities are just the place where our parishioners can connect with others and together grow in faith and in the love of God. In addition to joining a Small Christian Community, parishioners are asked to prayerfully consider facilitating a group, hosting a group at their home or joining the SCC Team. All Parishioners are encouraged to join.

Special Events Ministry
The success of special events that are sponsored from within the Adult Ministries department depends entirely on volunteers who are willing to be dedicated and focused on ‘making it happen’. Volunteers are needed to coordinate special events such as: the Eucharistic Congress, Walk Through the Bible, Money God’s Way, St. Patrick’s Day party, and Purpose Driven Life.

Sponsor Couples for Marriage Preparation
Through this ministry couples who have been married for at least five years help to prepare engaged couples who are planning to receive the Sacrament of Marriage. This approach to marriage preparation allows a married couple to make a difference by giving other couples the strong start they need to have a successful marriage. Meetings are held in the home of the married couple. The ministry coordinators can be contacted by Married couples interested in volunteering or engaged couples planning for marriage.

Sunday U!
What does the Church teach on matters of faith and morals, and why? Sunday U is an adult education series led by CTK parishioners who love the Catholic Church and are dedicated to sharing the truths of the faith. Using the Catechism of the Catholic Church and other Church documents, participants are drawn into the richness and depth of the Catholic faith. Sunday U is open to all adult parishioners and Rite of Reception & Adult Confirmation candidates. Topics covered include and go beyond the basics of Catholicism.

Wedding Guild/Apprentice Guild
Every Bride and Groom can be overwhelmed with all the details that have gone into planning their special day. As an aid to the wedding party, as well as the celebrant, the Wedding Guild directs rehearsals and weddings so that the Wedding Day will flow smoothly and beautifully. The Apprentice Guild assists members of the full-time Guild in their ministry and is open to all high school students.

What Would Jesus Cook (WWJC) Cooking Ministry
Fellowship and good food often go hand-in-hand and WWJC is there to help make it happen. We serve the Christ the King community by helping provide refreshments and meals for various Adult Ministry programs. Assistance is needed with food purchases and food transportation as well as food preparation. You DO NOT need to be a Top Chef to apply to this ministry! All parishioners are welcome.

Women’s Bible Study
