What is “Christ Renews His Parish”?
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) is a parish renewal process that has existed since 1969 and been recommended by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. Christ Renews His Parish is an experience designed to give both the individual and the parish community an opportunity for renewal and growth in spiritual life. As we grow in awareness of God’s love and respond to His call, we grow together as a parish family.
– It is a time to relax, pray, and rethink priorities.
– It is a time to get to know others at Christ the King and grow as a community.
– It is an opportunity to examine, rediscover, and /or intensify your personal relationship with Christ.
– It is a weekend of reflection and sharing of spiritual and real life issues.
– It is an excellent opportunity for Catholics to renew their understanding of the basic beliefs and traditions of their faith. It is an opportunity to say “yes” to a closer and deeper relationship with God.

What happens on the weekend?
The weekend enables you to hear and learn about God through the lives of other Catholics. It provides an atmosphere for individual spiritual growth through prayer and personal reflection. You can share conversations and thoughts (as much or as little as you desire) with others in the parish who also encounter many of the same demands of everyday life in family, society, and at work. Sacraments are part of the weekend. Mass is celebrated both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday evening Reconciliation is offered.
How does the process work?
The renewal weekend is given for PARISHIONERS by PARISHIONERS and a parish priest. The weekend can be made as a renewal experience with no further commitments. However, many participants afterwards choose to form a new team and present the next weekend.
When and where are weekends held?
The weekends will be held at Christ the King from 8:00 AM Saturday morning until 4:00 PM Sunday. There will be one men’s weekend and one women’s weekend held each spring and fall. Participants will stay overnight at the parish, and meals will be prepared by volunteer parishioners. The entire weekend is informal. Comfortable, casual attire is preferred. Every effort will be made to accommodate special needs.
Who attends?
CRHP is for parishioners, 21 and older, who are seeking spiritual renewal, desiring to grow closer to God, or searching for a deeper sense of purpose within the parish community. Praying for guidance is important. If you feel that Christ, through the Holy Spirit, may be calling you—come!
What about the cost?
A $75 registration fee is requested but not required. The spirit of CRHP is to make the experience available for everyone.
