The Cathedral Players - The Theater Ministry of Christ the King

Festival of Ministries

One weekend each August, after all the Masses, you are invited to come and see the many ministries offered at Christ the King. Help is needed for set-up clean-up, for hospitality and for staffing the tables.
CTK Recreation and Sports
The Cathedral of Christ the King (CTK) sponsors athletic teams which are open to the School and Parish families. Younger students (K-2nd grade) play in an intra-school league, while older students compete in Archdiocesan or Middle School League, in the following sports listed below. Registration fees range from $65 to $100. All registration information is sent through the CKS weekly packet, CTK Sunday School weekly packet as well as noted in the Parish bulletin.
Recreational Basketball (K-8th)
Kindergarten teams are co-ed and a1st/2nd grade teams are separated by gender.
No player evaluation. Selected coaches attend a meeting where they work together and place the children on teams. The season runs from late Fall through mid February, with games on Sunday afternoons played on 8 foot goals at the Hyland Center Gym, generally sometime between 1:00 and 6:00. First and second graders practice once a week for an hour at the Hyland Center Gym. The Kindergarten group practices for 20 minutes on Sundays, just prior to their game.
3rd-8th grade teams plays against other Parish teams within their grades. CTK teams are a member of the Catholic Metro League of Atlanta (“CMLA”www.eteamz.com/cmla) Players, per grade and gender, attend an evaluation period. There are no cuts as each player is drafted on a team. Selected coaches follow specific draft procedures required by CMLA to put the teams together. Games are played at parishes throughout Metro-Atlanta, including the Hyland Center Gym of CTK. Games are played on Saturdays, with an occasional Sunday game. Teams practice once a week at the Hyland Center Gym. A single elimination tournament is played at the end of the season for grades 5-8.
STRICT REGISTRATION DEADLINES ARE ENFORCED by CMLA for insurance, scheduling and other reasons.
Travel Basketball (3rd - 11th Grade - SpringYouth basketball and Adult basketball
Recreational Soccer (K-2)- Spring and fall seasons.
Kindergarten teams and a1st/2nd grade teams. All practices and games are held at the Garden Hills Field, less than a half a mile from CTK. Parents are in charge of arranging transportation to practices. One-hour practices are held during the week with games on Saturdays. No player evaluations as each player are placed on a team by selected coaches through a cooperation process.
Middle School Soccer League- Fall season only.
Open to boys and girls enrolled in CKS, or parish members of CTK, grades 6-8. Practices at the start of the season, and occasional practices during the season, held at Garden Hills Field. The weekday League games are played at various locations throughout Metro Atlanta.
Volleyball - Middle School Girls' Volleyball. Fall season.
