CORE Members/Mentors

A CORE Member is an adult who is responding to his or her baptismal call to serve in
youth ministry as a mentor. As a CORE Member, a person is an important role model in
teenagers’ lives. One’s approach to ministry is rooted in service, commitment, and
dedication to the Church and the teenagers they serve.

CORE Members are one of the most vital parts of the Life Teen Program. First and foremost,
CORE Members are role models to all of our teens. How one lives and acts makes a strong
impression of teens. The CORE Members makes a one year commitment to work under the
supervision of the youth ministry staff for the purpose of assisting in the fulfillment of the
Life Teen mission. Please consider serving our youth by being a CORE Member.

High School Confirmation
High School teenagers who are in 10th grade or above and have completed two years of ongoing
religious formation in LIFE TEEN or in Catholic School, are eligible to enter the formation program
and receive the sacrament on the following Feast of Pentecost. Hospitality greeters and
speakers needed for this important time in a teenagers Life Journey.

LIFE TEEN
This is a comprehensive youth ministry focused on the Eucharist. Beginning with a weekly LIFE
TEEN Mass, high school teens are placed in an environment where they have the opportunity to
experience fully the gift we have as the Catholic Church, and are led into a deeper relationship
with God. The program includes a weekly Sunday fellowship known as LIFE Night, a
Wednesday teen Bible study, fall and spring retreats, service projects, a mission trip, and various
outings. Core Team Prayer Group meets Tuesdays, 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

LIFE TEEN Mass
The 5:30 pm Sunday LIFE TEEN liturgy in the Parish Hall provides a cultural connection for all
teenagers, allowing them to take ownership of their faith and develop a relationship with Jesus
that is both personal and real. High school teens needed to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of
Holy Communion, Lectors, and Ushers. Training provided.

LIFE TEEN Support

Support needed for teen sand CORE Members in many areas so they can remain focused on
relational outreach to the community youth. Volunteers are needed to support the teens and core
members in the areas of: kitchen crew, event coordination, Sunday food volunteering, photo
graphy and videography, telephoning, media, monthly newsletter preparation and mailings,
Mass coordination during Life Teen liturgy, and hospitality. Please consider serving in one of
these vital areas.

LIFE Teen EDGE for Young Teens!

Middle School catechesis and ministry for 7th and 8th grade teens. The middle school youth attend
the weekly LIFE TEEN Mass, followed by a weekly Sunday EDGE night. EDGE
catechesis and activities echoes the format of the high school LIFE TEEN ministry but
designed to address the spiritual developmental needs of youth in this age range. It includes a fall
retreat, service activities and a monthly social outing. Volunteers needed to help coordinate and
implement the above youth activities.

An opportunity for teens to develop a deeper appreciation of the GOOD News by delving into
scriptures and helping teens identify its impact on one’s life. Volunteers needed to help support
the teens through hospitality, coordinating and prayers.
